Why put a UT in the bag?
Most golfers should say “ Long irons are difficult and cannot be hit well”.
So, what are the key performance points for a UT?

1) Easy to launch the ball
2) Easy to get big distance
3) Easy to hit the target

Optimize the height of the face in order to consistently hit the ball with the sweet spot off the ground. This increases the probability of a nice shot and will more likely carry the ball to the desired target. Optimizing the face progression/offset of the UT will also improve the ability to square to the ball for better impact. This drastically reduces distance variation and increases performance consistency.
